Epsom salt has been used for millennia by numerous cultures due to its beneficial features which detox the body. It is also used in household cleaning and gardening.

This salt is not expensive and you can find it easily.

The name of this salt comes from the saline spring in England, at Epsom in Surrey. It differs from other salts due to its natural mineral compound of sulfate and magnesium, both of which are extremely powerful and can detox the organism.

They enter the bloodstream through the skin which represents a porous membrane that absorbs these elements and removes the toxic substances from the organism.

If you add it to bathwater, the salt will stimulate the osmotic process, which eliminates the salt and the toxins from the body so that the sulfate and magnesium can enter the system.

Magnesium is important for about 325 enzymes. It has anti-inflammatory properties, improves the function of the muscles and nerves, boosts the blood circulation and oxygenation.

Sulfates are necessary for nervous tissues, joints and healthy skin. The mixture of these two components removes the toxins and enhances the formation of protein molecules in the joints and the brain.

If you use the Epsom salt baths on a regular basis you will remove the muscle pain, toenail fungus, athlete’s foot, sprains, bruises and gout. It detoxifies the body, treats pain, chronic diseases and inflammation, regulates balance of sulfur and minerals in the body.

Pregnant women, people who suffer from cardiovascular diseases, those who have open wounds or burns on the body and dehydrated people should consult their doctor before using this salt.

Instruction for taking Epsom salt bath:

You need 40 minutes for the entire procedure, since your body needs 20 min to eliminate the toxins and 20 more minutes to absorb the minerals in the salt bath water. Fill the standard size bath with warm water and add Epsom salt in the following amounts:

• Children – under 60 lbs: ½ cup of Epsom salt in the bath
• People – 60-100 lbs: 1 cup of salt
• People – 100-150 lbs: 1 ½ cup of salt
• People – 150-200 lbs: 2 cups of salt

Add ½ cup of Epsom salt for every 50 lbs larger.

You can increase the antioxidants properties of this bath if you add ½ cup of olive oil. It is especially useful for the skin due to its polyphenols. In order to increase the heat levels so that you can eliminate more toxins through sweating add cayenne powder or ginger.

Soap interferes with the action of minerals and the detox process, so avoid its usage during this bath. After the bath, rest for about 2 hours. If you suffer from arthritic joints you should stay active after the bath as much as you can. This will protect your joints from congestion.
