Here’s How To Put Coconut Oil On Your Hair To Stop It From Thinning, Falling Out Or Going Gray Early!
Coconut oil is known to be extremely healthy ingredient especially for your hair, skin and nails and that is why it is added to sunscreens, body creams and beauty products.
Coconut oil is mostly used in Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, Burma, Carribean, Indonesia and Philippines for keeping naturally colored, silky and long hair.
These are the most significant benefits of the coconut oil:
1. In order to prevent hair damage it is better to use coconut oil rather than sunflower or mineral oil, since it prevents protein loss and improves the shaft. Apply coconut oil on the hair ends in order to repair them. You should also cut them off every six weeks.
2. It is useful in prevention of hair loss
Hair loss may be caused by fungal infections, skin inflammations and even nutritional deficiencies.
Coconut oil contains healthy fats which improve the condition of the shaft and scalp. It treats all kinds of skin infections and soothes the inflammation as well.
Mix three tablespoons of coconut oil and two tablespoons of sage oil. Cook these oils over low heat. When the
mixture becomes warm apply it on your head before going to bed. Cover the head with a plastic or shower cap and let it stay during the night. The next morning rinse it off.
3. Gray Hair
There are pigment cells at the base of the hair follicles which give the color of the hair. However, over the time they die out and become less efficient.
Add lemon to the coconut oil and massage your hair for 15 minutes once a day. This will nourish and protect your scalp and follicles and prevent the hair going gray.
4. Makes the hair smooth
Excessive dryness of the hair cuticles and shaft make your hair fizzy. Coconut oil is hydrophobic and it repels the water. It also retains the hair moisture.
Apply the oil on your hair 15 minutes before washing it. This will make your hair silky and smooth. You can also apply it on the hair ends so that you can brush through your hair easily.
Moreover, you can use coconut oil for hair styling as well, especially for taming the flyaways and slicking down the hair.
5. Treats dandruff
One of the most common scalp conditions is the dandruff. It is caused by fungus, dry skin and it results in flaking on the scalp skin. Coconut oil is the perfect solution for this problem since it hydrates your scalp, treats fungal infections and dandruff.
Mix coconut oil and castor oil and massage the scalp. After a half an hour, wash the hair. Repeat this on a regular basis before washing the hair especially if you have severe dandruff.
6. Coconut oil destroys lice
Young children suffer from lice pretty often and in order to eliminate them people use products which contain various chemicals which damage and burn both the scalp and hair. Coconut oil hydrates the scalp skin and destroys the lice by suffocating them gradually.
It also prevents the lice eggs and lice to hang onto the hair. Apply this oil on your hair and let it stay for couple of days until it gets absorbed. If you want better results add some tea tree oil.
Make sure you use organic oil only. Some herbal or organic shampoos may contain coconut oil but in case they lack, you can add it to them.
